The Duke Center for Human Genetics works with people throughout the world in its quest to understand the genetic basis of human diseases. Patients and families come to the Center to learn about their diseases and to participate in genetic studies that will add to the body of knowledge about a wide range of disorders.

We have provided patients and families with a glossary of genetic terms.

All of our work is done with a fundamental respect for patients and their privacy. The Duke Health Enterprise Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP) policy describes how patient medical information may be used and disclosed and how patients can get access to this information. The NPP policy is available to all participants enrolled in our studies.
